OpenFlows WaterGEMS - Criticality and Fireflow Analysis

In this training, you will learn: 

• Criticality Analysis - To learn the use of Criticality features in WaterCAD or WaterGEMS to identify problem areas in the distribution system, with the goal of making the system more reliable.
• Become familiar with an existing system (model) and the isolating valves that it already contains.
• Using the Criticality tool to identify segments and check if there are any outage segments in the system.
• Identify problem areas in the system and criticality of the identified segments.
• This is an excellent tool for consultants and utilities alike to use on existing or proposed designs by quickly determining how to improve system reliability.
• Fireflow Analysis: To learn the use of Automated fire flow analysis feature of WaterCAD or WaterGEMS to assess the distribution system, with the goal of ensuring that piping system capacity is sufficient for delivering required fire flows.
• Become familiar with a large water system and evaluate the fire flows at each hydrant in a proposed subdivision project.
• Using the FireFlow Alternative to introduce fireflow in the model. Defining the design constraints such as residual pressures, zonal pressures, and velocities.
• Analyse the system using colour coding and annotation to locate pipes with the highest velocity that may be limiting the design. Identify any nodes that may have insufficient pressure.
